How to sell craft workshop tickets on Shopify
Craft shops already sell the materials. Workshops turn customers into regulars, and selling them in your own Shopify store keeps the sale, the customer and the follow-up in one place.
The problem with how most shops do it
Workshops listed as a plain product don't show a date, a venue or how many spots are left, and a separate ticketing site splits your customers from your shop and takes a fee on every ticket.
How to set it up
- Install Astraa Events Calendar on your Shopify store.
- In the app, click Create event. Add the title, date and time, venue, capacity and a ticket price. The app creates a ticket product with that many spots.
- In your theme editor, add the Events calendar block to a page such as “Classes” or “Events”, as a list or a month grid.
- Customers pick a date, check out as usual, and you see them on the attendee list.
Ideas for craft shops
A candle making evening
Create one event with your shop as the venue, a capacity of 10 and a ticket price. The storefront calendar shows the date, the place with a map link, and how many spots are left.
Workshop with a take-home kit
Add two ticket types: "Workshop" and "Workshop + kit to take home". Each type has its own price and its own number of spots.
Weekly drop-in craft club
Set Repeat to "Every week" and Sell as to "A separate event and ticket for each date". People can book any week they like, and you can tick Drop-in if guests can arrive any time during the session.
Private parties and hen dos
Add the Private event request block to a "Private parties" page. Groups send a request from your store, and you can book it as an unlisted event and send them its ticket link.
On the day
Use the attendee list to prepare the right number of kits, then scan each order's QR code at the door. One code covers every ticket on the order.
Tip: Give each workshop a category such as "Candles" or "Textiles" so customers can find the kind of class they like on your calendar.
