How to sell coffee tasting and cupping tickets on Shopify
Cuppings and brewing classes are a great way to turn bean subscribers into fans. If you sell coffee on Shopify, you can sell the tastings in the same store, with the same checkout and discounts.
The problem with how most shops do it
Roasters often run tastings through a separate events site or an Instagram DM thread. Seats are hard to cap, and buyers never land in the store where they could also pick up a bag of beans.
How to set it up
- Install Astraa Events Calendar on your Shopify store.
- In the app, click Create event. Add the title, date and time, venue, capacity and a ticket price. The app creates a ticket product with that many spots.
- In your theme editor, add the Events calendar block to a page such as “Classes” or “Events”, as a list or a month grid.
- Customers pick a date, check out as usual, and you see them on the attendee list.
Ideas for coffee roasters
A monthly public cupping
Create an event, set Repeat to "Every month" and Sell as to "A separate event and ticket for each date". Each month gets its own spots and its own attendee list.
Home brewing class with a bag of beans
Add ticket types such as "Class" and "Class + 250g bag". Each has its own price and spots out of the class capacity.
Several sessions on one day
On a new event, add extra start times (for example 10am, 12pm and 2pm). Each time becomes its own event, so seats fill per session.
Wholesale and team tastings
Add the Private event request block so cafés and companies can ask for a private session straight from your store.
On the day
Check names on the attendee list and scan QR codes at the door. Buyers can add the tasting to Google, Apple or Outlook calendars from the ticket page, so fewer people forget.
Tip: Use your existing Shopify discount codes for subscribers. Tickets are ordinary products, so discounts work at checkout like anything else you sell.
